The Raymond LeBlanc Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually
in the memory of Raymond LeBlanc. He was most proud of owning and
operating Burton Hill Farm in Barton, Vermont, where he raised his family
alongside his wife Suzanne. In 1990 he left the farm to pursue a new
career, becoming a well-known cattle salesman and ring man, buying and
selling high-end Registered Holsteins for clients all over the world. He took
immense pride in being a member of the Holstein Friesian Association for
over 40 years.
"Raymond worked harder, made more calls, had more contacts and more
bids than anyone going into a sale. No one was more honest than him and
you could leave him a bid in strict confidence," notes David Rama owner of
The Cattle Exchange. Raymond returned huge dividends to every breeder
and sale manager for which he ever worked. He loved working and speaking with everyone, fluent in both
English and French.
Most of all, Raymond enjoyed working with the younger generation and providing assistance when they
needed it. Raymond was a giver, as he contributed and assisted in raising money for numerous worthy causes
and those in need.
He loved his family and made friends very easily and would always greet you with his infectious smile!
When home at Willoughby Lake, Raymond pursued many hobbies including his love of gardening and cooking.
He was just that kind of man… gentle, caring and a devoted family man.
